Situated in So Kon Po, the famous green valley, the Hong Kong Stadium is the largest outdoor sports venue in Hong Kong. The stadium provides the modern equipment aimed at making to every visitor a feel of comfort while enjoying a great game together with friends or family members. It has a long history and originally was the old Government Stadium with a capacity of 28,000, which was redeveloped in 1994 to the current size with a new maximum capacity of 40,000 people.
The stadium has become well known all over the world over the last few years, especially because it hosts the different sports, entertainment and cultural events every week. Currently, the stadium is held most football matches, Viceroy Cup, Hong Kong Sevens - premier rugby tournament, and other major events.
