Natural Beauty and Recreation in Hong Kong

Hong Kong features a wide range of sites, parks and gardens that serve as tourist destinations for the better part of every year. Its parks and gardens are well kept, and are ideal for different occasions. The parks are perfect places where you can go for relaxation with your loved ones, family or in a group.

There are a large number of country parks and special areas that occupy almost 40 percents of Hong Kong's land area. These country parks are nice places for hiking. Another good thing is that some of them are situated in mountains and ridges, thereby giving you a chance to view different parts of Hong Kong. For example, when you visit Tai Mo Shan Park you will enjoy a beautiful scenery of Hong Kong. This park lies on the area of the highest mountain in Hong Kong, also called the Big Hat, which gives you a chance to view the city's beautiful landscape and other unique features.

The urban areas of Hong Kong have plenty of public parks and gardens - "green islands". They offer an extensive range of recreational and sports facilities.
