Sha Tin is an area located in a valley of the Shing Mun River, which is half way between Hong Kong Island and mainland China. Although it's a residential area, Sha Tin is very popular with tourists compared to other areas in the New Territories. The highlights are the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, one of the top themed museums in Hong Kong, and Sha Tin Racecourse, one of two racecourses in the city. Other popular spots include Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery and New Town Plaza. You can easily get there using the MTR or bus. To get there from the airport, take bus A41 or A41P.
