The New Territories occupies over 80% of Hong Kong's territory and consists of country parks and a number of towns located in the lowlands. Apart from the country parks with amazing views of Hong Kong's landscape, there are a few interesting tourist attractions: Hong Kong Heritage Museum, 10,000 Buddhas Monastery and Sha Tin Racecourse in the Sha Tin area; Tsing Ma Bridge in the Tsing Yi area; Wetland Park in Tin Shui Wai. Almost every town has access to the MTR as well as to other modes of public transport like buses or taxis.
Though the New Territories occupies the largest territory, it is not so popular with tourists as Hong Kong Island or Kowloon. As a result, there are only a few hotels, which are concentrated mainly in such areas as Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan or Tsing Yi.
