Being a multinational and a populous region, the city has a large number of temples devoted to different types of religions. As most of people are Chinese, most of the temples are used for Buddhism and Taoism. Apart from Buddhist temples, there are Catholic churches, Islamic mosques and temples of other types of religions. Many temples have a rich history, some dating back centuries.
